A Memorable 99th Birthday Celebration Made Possible by Symphony’s New Dream Maker Program!

A Memorable 99th Birthday Celebration!

Ninety nine years old is certainly a young age to celebrate, and the Symphony Dream Team at Caretel Inns Brighton wanted to make the 99th birthday celebration as heartwarming and memorable as possible for Theresa R!

It felt so rewarding to help Teresa return to her beloved St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dexter, MI for a special mass and rosary service in her honor,” shared Jenna Watson, Activities Director at Caretel Inns Brighton.

Theresa has been living at Caretel Inns Brighton Assisted Living for over 2 years and hasn’t been able to attend mass as frequently as when she was younger. During her time at Caretel, Theresa has developed a special bond with her caregiver, Terri. In fact, their bond is so special that when Theresa learned about the celebration, she asked Terri to not only join her, but requested her to bake her a birthday cake! Katie Edwards, Director of Assisted Living, said, “It’s beautiful to see how their relationship has grown beyond just caregiving and into a meaningful connection. It’s these types of bonds with our residents that motivates us as caregivers.”

It’s clear from these photos that Theresa’s visit to her church brought her immense joy and happy tears to her eyes. The smiles, laughter, and gratitude shared by Theresa, her family, and friends truly highlight the love and appreciation they have for each other. It’s moments like these that makes Symphony’s Dream Maker program so important in enhancing the lives of our residents.

Symphony’s Dream Maker program is at the heart of who we are as a company. It allows us the privilege to learn about the wishes and dreams of our guests and to do whatever we can to transform that hope into a reality. A Dream Maker request can be something daring, a simple pleasure, an untold wish, or even reliving a fond memory. If it will enrich the life of a guest, we want to hear about it!
